Still here!
Keeping busy with several projects. All are moving forward despite some delays. Plenty of work behind the scenes, not much to tell, yet...
Still coding my game engine. "It will be ready when it's ready." Hate to say it that way, but it is accurate.
I still expect to release a few simple games before the main RPG. However, they are all dependant on some boring infrastructure code I haven't finished yet. I keep focusing on making the game look and feel better, obviously very important. Consequently, data managers, player progress tracking, mission and/or level managers, and system configuration managers tend to fall behind. But the planets are pretty, or at least I think they are.
Haven't spent enough time on 3D meshes lately.
Tried a few other artistic things, mostly drawing. I like drawing, but so far I'm even slower at that than at coding.
I took a few scenic photographs, trails, trees, and sunsets. That was fun. Although, the camera resolution is too low to use them the way I intended to.
Life is good!

Rapid Game Development
Got off to a slow start, but things are
looking much better now. The game will be done soon, thank God!
Week Two:
Made much better headway than in week one. Ran out of time too soon, didn't even get to writing an update.
Week Three:
Some progress. Then ran into a snag; a difference in the way my Linux and Windows compilers implement things. For the past few years I've been using the Linux compiler exclusively. Decided to do this project on the Windows compiler, in part to familiarize myself with it, that bit is working spectacularly.
Spent over an hour working out that issue. Out of time again.

Game Coding Challenge
It seems evident that I will need more than two weekends to produce a simple platform game. I'll still try to finish it next weekend as planned.
My coding pace, at least so far, isn't fast enough. With more practice perhaps?
Anyway, trying to put together a bare-bones game in a matter of hours is an interesting experience and a good challenge.
