Busy!
Over the last few months I didn't have as much free time as expected. Everything is moving along anyway, though a little slower than I hoped.

Games
(Edited to Update, November 2018)
(Edited to Update, December 2018)
Spent most of my free time the last few months(March-July) on a 2d Side Scrolling Platform game. I had hoped to release a demo by Christmas 2018, but didn't have enough free time.
Put a decent amount of time into a 2d Top Down Shooter. And developing art assets for my website. Spent a bit of time on Star Freighter, and a Solitaire game.
I spent more time(July-November) on the 2d Top Down Shooter than the Platformer, so it might be released first. I put most of my spare time(July-November) into Star Freighter though, so none of the shorter games are done yet.

New things...
The holidays were very busy for me, good though! Now that my schedule has normalized, I'm focused on a number of things. Primarily coding and graphics for my games.
I tentatively plan to release a beta of a simple platformer game by Christmas 2018. Hopefully a pre-alpha a bit sooner. I intend to post periodic updates of my progress here. This target should be achievable, however life isn't always predictable, plans sometimes fall apart.
Also planning a significant update to my website. The update should begin reasonably soon...
These plans may change without notice...

New Art...
I spent some time on a new digital art piece, it's nearly finished.
I also have a few older Wall Papers, they need a little formatting before I can publish them. I expect to have this completed soon. I'll post an update (here) when they are done.

Still here!
Keeping busy with several projects. All are moving forward despite some delays. Plenty of work behind the scenes, not much to tell, yet...
Still coding my game engine. "It will be ready when it's ready." Hate to say it that way, but it is accurate.
I still expect to release a few simple games before the main RPG. However, they are all dependant on some boring infrastructure code I haven't finished yet. I keep focusing on making the game look and feel better, obviously very important. Consequently, data managers, player progress tracking, mission and/or level managers, and system configuration managers tend to fall behind. But the planets are pretty, or at least I think they are.
Haven't spent enough time on 3D meshes lately.
Tried a few other artistic things, mostly drawing. I like drawing, but so far I'm even slower at that than at coding.
I took a few scenic photographs, trails, trees, and sunsets. That was fun. Although, the camera resolution is too low to use them the way I intended to.
Life is good!

Rapid Game Development
Got off to a slow start, but things are
looking much better now. The game will be done soon, thank God!
Week Two:
Made much better headway than in week one. Ran out of time too soon, didn't even get to writing an update.
Week Three:
Some progress. Then ran into a snag; a difference in the way my Linux and Windows compilers implement things. For the past few years I've been using the Linux compiler exclusively. Decided to do this project on the Windows compiler, in part to familiarize myself with it, that bit is working spectacularly.
Spent over an hour working out that issue. Out of time again.

Game Coding Challenge
It seems evident that I will need more than two weekends to produce a simple platform game. I'll still try to finish it next weekend as planned.
My coding pace, at least so far, isn't fast enough. With more practice perhaps?
Anyway, trying to put together a bare-bones game in a matter of hours is an interesting experience and a good challenge.

Simpler Games
Over the next two weekends I plan to focus on producing a simple platform jumping game.
The epic RPG I have been working on is more fun to code, and consequently a huge project. And very time consuming.
A smaller scale game could be made commercially viable much quicker. So my next few coding sessions will be directed at that. I'll see if I can make a game in a matter of days. Then I'll return to Star Freighter.

Webstore
My webstore is transitioning, my Yahoo sales channel is closed. My TurboSquid channel is still available (here). I'm actively considering developing other channels...
Why close the Yahoo channel? My webstore has been losing money since I opened it. Yahoo web hosting was one of the larger expenditures. To reduce costs and keep my business going it made sense.
Soon I'll have another paid web hosting solution, either with Yahoo, or someone else. I'm mostly happy with Yahoo. For now, some of my products are available (here).
